Posted by: admin  :  Category: security

The answer is no, it can’t . A computer virus can not infect a Mobile phone. Just like any other PC program won’t work on the phone, a computer virus can not do it’s activity on mobile phone too. Most worst that can happen is that the computer virus can copy itself to the phone when phone is connected with a infected PC, but it will not able to run on the phone.

Though Antivirus company Kaspersky Labs do claim that they have discovered the first-ever computer virus capable of spreading over mobile phone networks. According to them name of the virus (network worm) is ‘Cabir’ and it can infect phones running the Symbian mobile phone operating system. (source) . Good news is that no infections have been reported.
